Always On The Cutting Edge!

Advanced Technology

Your time is important to us, and we want to make sure that we deliver a thorough yet positive experience with each visit.

Advanced Dental Technologies

We are always working to bring our patients the latest and greatest in dental technology, procedures and treatment options. Here are some of the ways in which we provide you with the most advanced exam and treatment procedures available.

Advanced Sterilization System

The advanced heat sterilization process that we have incorporated into this practice meets or exceeds standards required by OSHA and the Center For Disease Control. To protect your health, dentists use “universal precautions.” That means we use the same protective measures with every patient to prevent transmission of the virus that causes AIDS or any other infectious disease.

These infection procedures include:

  • Wearing gloves, masks, and protective eyewear.
  • Washing hands before and after each treatment, and changing gloves after each patient.
  • Sterilizing or disinfecting dental instruments after each use.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting the surfaces in the treatment room and equipment after each patient.
  • Disposing of needles and other sharp items in special containers.
  • Disposing of waste items and contaminated material properly.

CEREC System

We offer CEREC same day crowns. These same day crowns make the multi-visit crown procedures a thing of the past. Within one 90-minute session, you will have a visually-appealing solution to a decaying or chipped tooth. No need to book another appointment!

Laser Technology

Our office provides laser technology for any cosmetic need. Lasers are less invasive and reduce the amount of bleeding during a procedure, making for a more pleasurable visit with little to no pain involved. Since there is no cutting, patients will not need stitches and there is virtually no chance of infection. Laser technology also helps dentists treat cavities and conserve as much of your natural tooth as possible.

All Digital Radiography (Lower Radiation, No Chemicals):

Your overall wellbeing is important to us, and that’s why our practice has switched to using all digital radiography. Unlike conventional radiography, digital radiography keeps exposure to a minimum by reducing your exposure by at least 75%. These digital x-ray systems allow us to control the exposure of each image in real time and make the process more efficient, all while maintaining high-quality results. This new technology enhances our ability to detect disease and problem areas with more precision and gives you an instant visual of the proposed treatment plan.

Intraoral Digital Cameras:

Intraoral digital cameras are an efficient and safe way to keep radiation to a minimum. Through the use of a charged coupled device (CCD), patients will be able to see the inside of their mouth from a dentist’s perspective. The images help to visualize what the dentist is referring to as they walk through your treatment plan. CCD identifies potential threats to your dental health and collaboratively works with dentists to figure out the best treatment plan for your needs.

Anesthetic Reversal (OraVerse):

The lingering effect of anesthesia can make it difficult to do simple things, such as smiling or drinking, and may cause drooling. The beauty of OraVerse is that it reverses the numbness following local anesthesia. It’s a simple, quick process administered by the dentist in the same manner that the local anesthetic was given.

CT Scans - Digital Imaging of the Mouth:

Through the use of our three-dimensional CT scanner, our providers are able to obtain incredibly detailed images of the facial structure. This technology is useful for detecting bone loss, the precise location of nerve pathways, as well as abnormalities in the soft tissue. These scans are lightning-fast and produce highly accurate imaging – utilized to better the health and experience of patients within our office.

Communication & Consultation:

In addition to the extensive list of technology that Wells Family Dental Group features, you will find that our team is very communicative, whether explaining options for tooth replacement or what is taking place during a crown preparation procedure. You’ll also find the practice is structured to support this level of patient involvement through consultation rooms, so conversations with the dentist can occur while you are comfortable in an armchair rather than a treatment chair. You can be more involved in treatment decisions by viewing images, such as digital radiography or close up photos of back teeth, on chair-mounted monitors. Regardless of where you are in the office, you’ll feel the practice has been designed to accommodate YOU!
