  • Hydrate for the Walk: Don’t forget your water! Pick up a case of bottled water or refill your reusable bottles at Harris Teeter before you head out to enjoy the beautiful Clayton River Walk.

The Clayton River Walk is a multi-purpose trail along the Neuse River, known as Clayton River Walk, in Clayton, North Carolina. It is a four-mile-long asphalt paved track and ten feet wide making it ideal for joggers, cyclists, walkers, and families. Benches are along the trail for users to rest while enjoying the serene views of the river.

The Clayton River Walk is a portion of the famous Mountains-to-Sea Trail, which stretches from the Great Smoky Mountains to the Outer Banks. This is also part of the East Coast Greenway, which aims to create an almost 3,000-mile trail all the way from Maine to Florida.

Locally the River Walk hooks onto the Neuse River Greenway, stretching miles northward to Raleigh through the Sam’s Branch Greenway, an important link to downtown Clayton.
