Huma Sheikh
DDS, MS, PA
Dr. Sheikh is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. Her interest in academia and research led her to complete a Masters of Science in Operative Dentistry, in addition to completing her DDS. She has done extensive research on dental materials, with two publications on composite resins and their adhesive abilities. During her postgraduate studies, she received the Ann & G. Randolph Babcock Fellowship Award, which secured additional funding for her research.
Her clinical interests are in esthetic rehabilitation, reconstructing a patient’s smile, and giving them a new outlook on life. As an adjunct assistant professor at UNC School of Dentistry, she devoted herself to her students, helping them develop clinical skills they will utilize for the lifetime of their careers. She is also an active member of North Carolina Dental Society, the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Sheikh grew up in Wisconsin amongst a family of seven, and was inspired to become a dentist by her father, who has been practicing dentistry in Wisconsin for over 25 years. She enjoys golf, tennis and spending time with her husband, son and daughter.

Jiger Shah
DDS
Born in Toronto, Dr. Jiger Shah was raised in Columbus, Ohio. It was there that he became a diehard Buckeye fan (Go Bucks!). Dr. Shah attended The Ohio State University where his curiosity for dentistry grew. He immersed himself in the dental community at Ohio State, which led to a passion for the profession. While there, he met his wife, Pinal. Dr. Shah received his bachelor’s degree in 1998.
In 2002, Dr. Shah earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan. Immediately after graduation his wife brought him to the Triangle to further her studies. The couple fell in love with the area and decided to make North Carolina their home. Dr. Shah successfully operated his own dental practice in Cary for 13 years. During that time, the family welcomed their twins and baby boy.
Dr. Shah is excited to call the Cary office of Wells Family Dental Group his home to continue his career. He will strive to build strong relationships with all patients. This means taking the time to learn how he can gain and maintain trust for optimal oral health. Dr. Shah believes strongly in a patient-centered approach. He has always ascribed to the motto “Never Fear the Dentist Again”. “If we can just listen to our patient’s wants and needs, the anxiety towards treatment can be reduced or overall eliminated. This leads to better outcomes and happier smiles!”
Dr. Shah enjoys traveling, camping, golf and of course, college football. As a family, they enjoy giving back and volunteering in the community through charities and food pantries. He is also fluent in Gujarati from western India.
